1. CHOD exercises Command of the operational structure of the Armed Forces, and the different Component Commands, previously designated, report to him, who will carry out the operations that are determined, according to the operational plans in force.
2. In addition to these appointed Commands, the permanent operational commands listed in section 5 of this article form part of the operational structure.
3. Designated Component Commands. At the proposal of the CHOD and the respective Army and Navy Chiefs of Staff, and with the prior approval of the head of the Ministry of Defence, CHOD may appoint the highest level Component Commands, which shall be established by the Army and Navy and the MCCE and which are: Army Component Command, Maritime Component Command, Air Component Command, Space Component Command and Cyberspace Component Command.
4. In addition, due to its cross-cutting nature, the Special Operations Component Command will be deployed, where appropriate, in keeping with current military doctrine.
5. Standing Operational Commands. For the development of the operations that the SAF have continuously activated, the following are constituted:
a) The Ground Operational Command (MOT). This is the body of the Armed Forces operational structure responsible, for planning, conducting and monitoring the cited operations in the land scope. The Army Chief of Staff will propose to CHOD the Commander of the Land Operational Command (CMOT).
b) The Maritime Operational Command (MOM). This is the body of the SAF operational structure responsible, for planning, conducting and monitoring the aforementioned operations in the naval sphere. The Admiral Chief of Staff of the Navy proposes the CHOD the appointment of the Commander for the Maritime Operations Command (CMOM).
c) The Operational Air Command (MOA). This is the body of the SAF operational structure responsible, for planning, conducting and monitoring the aforementioned operations in airspace. The Chief of Staff of the Air and Space Army shall propose to design the Commander of the Air Operational Command (CMOA).
d) The Operational Space Command (MOESPA). This is the body within the operational structure of the Armed Forces responsible, at its level, for planning, conducting and monitoring the foregoing operations in outer space. The Chief of Staff of the Air and Space Army shall propose to CHOD the designation for the Commander of the Operational Space Command (CMOESPA).
e) The Cyberspace Operational Command (MOC) is the body of the SAF operational structure responsible, for planning, conducting and monitoring military operations to ensure the SAF's freedom of action in the cyberspace domain, in accordance with the operational plans in force. CHOD will designate the Commander of the Cyberspace Operational Command (CMOC).
6. Commanders of the referred Operational Commands will exercise command of the forces under their authority, in accordance with the provisions of the plans in force and in accordance with military doctrine. They shall maintain, in the exercise of their responsibilities, coordination relations with the military and civilian authorities and organisations related to the aforementioned operations.
Land Operational Command (MOT in Spanish). This is the branch within the operational structure of the Armed Forces that is responsible, at its level, for planning, conducting and monitoring land operations.
The Army Chief of Staff will promote the appointment of the Commander of the Land Operational Command (CMOT in Spanish) to the Chief of Defence.
Commanders of the aforementioned Operational Commands shall exercise the set up forces' command, in accordance with plans in place and military doctrine. They will also get coordinated with military and civilian authorities and any bodies involved in the aforementioned operations.
The Chief of Defense appointed the Head of the Canary Islands Command as CMOT, and its Headquarters is located in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
CMOT: TG JULIO SALOM HERRERA
Maritime Operational Command (MOM in Spanish). This is the branch within the operational structure of the Armed Forces that is responsible, at its level, for planning, conducting and monitoring maritime operations.
The Navy Chief of Staff will promote the appointment of the Commander of the Maritime Operational Command (CMOM in Spanish) to the Chief of Defence.
Commanders of the aforementioned Operational Commands shall exercise the set up forces' command, in accordance with plans in place and military doctrine. They will also get coordinated with military and civilian authorities and any bodies involved in the aforementioned operations.
By Order 200/17069/20, the Chief of Defense appointed the Admiral of Maritime Action as CMOM, and its headquarters are located in Cartagena.
Air Operational Command (MOA in Spanish). This is the branch within the operational structure of the Armed Forces that is responsible, at its level, for planning, conducting and monitoring aerospace operations.
The Air Force Chief of Staff will promote the appointment of the Commander of the Air Operational Command (CMOA in Spanish) to the Chief of Defence.
Commanders of the aforementioned Operational Commands shall exercise the set up forces' command, in accordance with plans in place and military doctrine. They will also get coordinated with military and civilian authorities and any bodies involved in the aforementioned operations.
By Order 200/17069/20, the Chief of Defense appointed the Commander of Air Operational Command as CMOA, and its headquarters are located at Torrejón Air Base.
Space Operational Command (MOESPA in Spanish). This is the branch within the operational structure of the Armed Forces that is responsible, at its level, for planning, conducting and monitoring military operations aimed at ensuring the freedom of action of the Armed Forces within cyberspace, in accordance with operational plans in place.
The Commander of the Space Operational Command (CMOC) will be appointed by the Chief of Defence.
Commanders of the aforementioned Operational Commands shall exercise the set up forces' command, in accordance with plans in place and military doctrine. They will also get coordinated with military and civilian authorities and any bodies involved in the aforementioned operations.
CMOESPA: GD ISAAC MANUEL CRESPO ZARAGOZA
The Cyberspace Operational Command (MOC in Spanish) is the body within the operational structure of the Armed Forces responsible, at its level, for planning, conducting and monitoring military operations to ensure the Armes Forces freedom of action in the cyberspace domain, in accordance with the operational plans in force.
