  •  For two days, the Balearic Tactical Subgroup conducted patrols across the island to enhance environmental awareness and strengthen relations with the local population

The Land Operational Command headquartered in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, directed and coordinated the deployment of the Balearic Tactical Subgroup (TSG) in several locations across the island of Mallorca, with the mission of carrying out Presence, Surveillance and Deterrence Operations. Within this framework, military teams conducted reconnaissance and protection patrols aimed at improving situational awareness of the environment, while also reinforcing cooperation with civil authorities and the local population.

The Balearic Tactical Subgroup is commanded by Captain Cristian Alfaro, Head of the Command and Support Company of the Filipinas Battalion. He explained that the mission of this deployment was to “prepare soldiers to conduct these operations during daylight hours in the south-eastern area of the island of Mallorca, particularly in the municipalities of Campos, Santanyí and Felanitx. Additionally, during the deployment, contact was established with members of the State Security Forces and Corps in order to inform them of our presence and the purpose of our military patrols.”

According to the captain, these planned marches, which range in length from 15 to 17 kilometres, ensure a military presence in areas of national sovereignty and strengthen the cohesion and comradeship of the troops.
