The Commander of the operations command visits the Spanish force deployed in operation 'support for Iraq'.

  • Lieutenant General Braco has seen the work of the Spanish military on the spot.

Lieutenant General Francisco Braco Carbó, Commander of the Operations Command (CMOPS), has visited Baghdad with a delegation consisting of several personnel from his unit.

The main purpose of the visit was to engage in direct and close contact with the members of Operation Iraq Support. The CMOPS attended various activities, meetings and presentations on the conduct of the mission.

Lieutenant General Braco Carbó also travelled, thanks to the assistance of Task Force Toro, the Spanish helicopter unit in Iraq, to Al Asad to visit the installations and the rest of the ISPUHEL XVII contingent. The CMOPS met with the Force Commander of SOTG XVII at the Baghdad Diplomatic Support Centre and with the National Military Authorities Representative for 'Operation Inherent Resolve'.

During his stay, Lieutenant General Braco Carbó was accompanied by the Head of the Spanish Contingent, Brigadier General Ricardo Esteban Cabrejos, who thanked him for the deference and support shown by the Operations Command.

The Operations Commander also met with the head of Operation Inherent Resolve, General McFarlane, the heads of NATO's Iraq mission divisions and the Commander of NATO Mission Iraq, Lieutenant General Iannucci.
