Where we operate

Royal Decree 521/2020, of may 19, establishing the basic organization of the Armed Forces states that such organization is configured in two structures: an organic one, whose task is the preparation of the Force, and an operational one, for the employment of military capabilities in the missions assigned to the Armed Forces.

The Chief of Defence is responsible for the operational structure and the Defence Staff is the organization established for the development of joint action (participation of the Army, Navy and Air Force) and combined action (participation of the Armed Forces of different countries) in operations, both in national territory and abroad, and in the exercises determined.
