Since the first basic training course was conducted in November 2022, during the first steps of the EUMAM UA operation in Spain, 2 basic or recruit training courses have been completed. The third has just started.
The bulk of the Ukrainian personnel who have participated in the training in recent months have been trained in Toledo. The personnel have been trained to join the units that the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence is organizing to increase its effort against the illegitimate aggression of the Russian troops.
They are provided with rapid and effective training in basic concepts and skills (shooting, navigation, survival, etc.), which makes them combatants ready to redouble the efforts of their compatriots to restore their borders and to defend their democratic values.
The Toledo Combat Training Unit was also designed to host specific courses of a different nature. The C-IED and demining courses given by MING personnel and the 1st Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) course, which improved the combat health capabilities of Ukrainian personnel, have just been completed.
The latter is considered by Ukraine to be an essential skill to improve the survival of its citizens and combatants, which is why they have reiterated its interest in continuing to receive it. The 2nd TCCC course for Ukrainian personnel began on the 16th, with a total of 31 participants.
The staff of the Health Unit that provides it offers them the knowledge and means necessary to provide quality training that will significantly increase their operational health capabilities.

These training activities are conducted under the direction of the Toledo Training Coordination Centre (TTCC), in coordination with the EU Military Planning and Conduct Capability (MPCC) Headquarters, under the umbrella of Operation EUMAN UA.
EUMAM UA, in Spain under the operational control of the Operations Command, is ready to adjust to the operational needs of the Ukrainian armed forces. It is able to adapt its organisation and personnel to meet the required training, in accordance with the evolution of the situation.
The Spanish Armed Forces have extensive experience in training missions for personnel of the Armed Forces and security forces of other countries in the EU (CAR, Mali and Somalia) and as well as in other collaborations with our allies (Iraq).
It is not excluded that teams of trainers from other EU Member States may participate in national training centres if required.
