·      From 2nd to 9th September, musicians of the Spanish Army have taken part in the celebration of the Latvian Armed Forces centenary

A group with 12 musicians from the Operational Logistic Force band (FLO, in Spanish) has visited Latvia to take part in the celebrations on the occasion of the centenary of the creation of the Latvian Armed Forces.

Particularly, the musicians from the General Headquarter of the FLO, based in La Coruña, have offered concerts in Riga, Smiltene and Kuldiga.

On the 5th, they gave three performances of 40 minutes-concerts at which they played typical Spanish songs. The day after, they played for children at Kuldiga schools and on the 7th, they offered a recital together with the National Guard band of Latvia in Smiltene.

Likewise, they have taken part in a military rally on the occasion of the Father’s Day, which, in Latvia is celebrated on the 8th of September. They also played classic Spanish pieces for the present audience, as “Las Corsarias” or “El Gato Montés”, and other contemporary songs from Mecano, Miguel Ríos or even the worldwide known song “Despacito”.

The concerts offered by the Spanish band convened significant audience. This collaboration highlights the good relationship between Spain and Latvia, given that our country has been invited to very important celebrations in the Baltic country, as the Father’s Day or the centenary of the Armed Forces.
