The Military Police Detachment of the Spanish contingent deployed in Lebanon, which is integrated by members of the Civil Guard and the Lebanese Internal Security Forces have participated in a knowledge exchange seminar between the police forces.
The two days of training consisted of theoretical and practical sessions, in which five members of the Spanish detachment and seven members of the Lebanese security forces have taken part.
During the seminar the procedures to be followed when an officer arrives at a crime scene were addressed: evidence collection and protection, scene investigation, fingerprinting, alleged homicide/robbery/ practical scene sharing.
Regarding road safety, safety measures in traffic interventions and the investigation of traffic accidents were discussed. A round table was also held for the sharing of real cases.
The first part of the seminar was offered by experts in criminal investigation who gave basic guidelines on how to act at the crime scene.
The second part of the seminar was given by experts in traffic accident prevention and investigation.
For the students, one of the most interesting activities of the seminar was the exchange of experiences and working methods between the Spanish and Lebanese staff.
