The Field Artillery Command (MACA in Spanish) has completed the theoretical and practical training of advanced field artillery observers in León, within the framework of the European Union Military Assistance Mission in Support of Ukraine (EUMAM UA).
Thus, the Coast Artillery Group I/4, belonging to the Coast Artillery Regiment number 4, has taught this module to members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on field artillery simulators and through live fire observation exercises.
Through this training, conducted by the Toledo Training Coordination Centre (TTCC), they have learned how to designate targets, request, correct and adjust fires, as well as how to assess and report on the effects produced.
EUMAM UA, support to Ukraine
This EU mission aims to contribute to enhancing the military capability of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to effectively conduct military operations, aimed at defending its territorial integrity within its internationally recognised borders, effectively exercising its sovereignty and protecting the civilian population.
In Spain, these training activities are directed by the Toledo Training Coordination Centre (TTCC), under the direction of the Operations Command, to which it is organically dependent, coordinating its activities with different international structures, not only within the field of the European Union, but also within the framework of multinational agreements.
The TTCC consists of a General Headquarters in Burgos, on which the Combat Training Unit (UFC by its Spanish acronym) in Toledo (of a permanent nature and which carries out both basic training and different specific courses) and the Training Modules (TM), which are activated to provide instruction in the specialities that are requested. These courses are held at facilities belonging to the Army and the Navy in various locations throughout Spain.
The Spanish Armed Forces have extensive experience in training personnel from the Armed Forces and security forces from other countries, such as Iraq, Mali and Somalia, among others.
