The Navy trains Ukrainian soldiers in the first maritime demining module of the Toledo Training Coordination Centre

  • The Navy teaches its first maritime demining module in Cartagena, contributing to the military mission in support of Ukraine

The Counter Mine Action Diver Unit along with military health personnel from the Navy's Mine Action Force have begun the training Ukrainian military personnel in Cartagena.

Lasting approximately one month, it is the first maritime demining module delivered by the Toledo Training Coordination Centre (TTCC) of the EUMAM UA military support mission to Ukraine.

In this module, twenty navy instructors will train the Ukrainian Defence Forces. They will provide them with comprehensive training in diving techniques, explosives safety, underwater military search, mine warfare and various technical tactics and demining procedures.

The TTCC is the structure created by Spain to carry out the mission it has assumed with the European Union. It reports to the Operations Command (MOPS) and has a Headquarters located in Burgos, a permanent Combat Training Unit (UFC) located in Toledo and various specific training modules, which are activated temporarily to meet the requests of the Ukrainian government.
