The Civil Guard begins training of Ukrainian military personnel in the European Union's Support Mission to Ukraine

  • The Civil Guard joins the structure of the Toledo Training Coordination Center. They will train personnel from the Ukrainian Defence Forces in anti-terrorist matters.

The Rural Action Unit of the Civil Guard will be in charge of providing Ukrainian soldiers with comprehensive anti-terrorist training at the facilities of the Special Training Centre in Logroño. They will be trained in tactical treatment of casualties in combat, precision and combat shooting, handling of explosives, as well as in different techniques and procedures for anti-terrorist actions.

The Civil Guard is thus committed to the mission of EUMAM UA by delivering its first module at the TTCC, training Ukrainian National Guard personnel. The module is scheduled for two weeks, in which the Ukrainian personnel will acquire the necessary techniques, procedures and knowledge to be able to apply them when they return to their country.

The Toledo Training Coordination Center (TTCC) is the structure created by Spain to carry out the mission it has assumed within the European Union. Reporting to the Operations Command (MOPS), it has a General Headquarters located in Burgos, a permanent Combat Training Unit (UFC) located in Toledo as well as several specific training modules, which are temporarily activated to meet the requests of the Ukrainian government.

These activities are being carried out by units spread throughout the national territory, belonging to all branches of the Spanish Armed Forces and also to the Guardia Civil.
