- The training is directed and coordinated by the Toledo Training Coordination Center (TTCC) through different modules taught in various Spanish locations.
Spain continues to firmly fulfil its commitment to the European Union to train Ukrainian military personnel in different combat capabilities, achieving the figure of more than 3,000 Ukrainian military personnel trained.
This training has been carried out in Spain since November 2022 within the framework of the EUMAM UA mission (European Union Military Assistance Mission - Ukraine) where the TTCC directs and coordinates it from its Headquarters located in Burgos.
On the one hand, this task of training the Ukrainian military is carried out by the Combat Training Unit (UFC), which is permanent and located in Toledo, and on the other hand, through different specific training modules distributed throughout the rest of the country.
Since the start of the mission, Spanish soldiers from the three armies have been training their Ukrainian counterparts and will continue to do so in specific modules.
The Spanish Army has given courses in Basic Training, Maintenance of Armoured Tracked Transport Vehicles, Leopard Tank Crew, Health Care for Casualties in Combat, Counter Improvised Explosive Devices, Forest Assault Operations, Combat Sniper, Combat Sniper, Course on the Use of Improvised Explosive Devices and Combat Sniper, Course on the Use of Improvised Explosive Devices in Combat, Combat Sapper, Advanced Combat Course, Non-Commissioned Officer Training, Mine Clearance, Operations Planning, Urban Terrain Military Operations, HAWK Anti-Aircraft Missile, 105/14 Howitzer Crew, Advanced Artillery Observer, Geospatial Analysis and Cyber Defence.
The Navy, for its part, has been the instructor for the Basic Training and Operations Planning courses.
The Air and Space Army has given the Air Support Conduct and Aspide Anti-Aircraft Missile courses.
Once the figure of three thousand Ukrainian military personnel trained has been surpassed, the Spanish Armed Forces will continue with the commitment to continue training Ukrainian personnel during the next year 2024.
