Spanish military personnel deliver a cybersecurity course in Senegal for the first time

In Dakar,
June 22, 2026

Specialists from the Joint Cyberspace Command trained the Senegalese Armed Forces in protecting networks and information systems against cyber threats

A team of four specialists from the Joint Cyberspace Command (JCC) delivered the course at Security Operations Centres (SOCs) as part of Cooperative Security Activities.

During the week-long course, Spanish military personnel from the JCC travelled to Dakar to share knowledge and experience in a critical area for modern armed forces: protecting networks and information systems against cyber threats.

The syllabus combined theory and practical exercises on network monitoring, threat detection, incident analysis and response procedures for cyber-attacks.

The programme matched the current needs and capabilities of the Senegalese Armed Forces. Participants applied procedures and tools used in a SOC and worked on scenarios similar to those they might face in a real operational environment.

This initiative complements other Cooperative Security Activities (ASC) carried out between Spain and Senegal in the field of information and communications technology, contributing to the progressive strengthening of capabilities that are increasingly relevant to the conduct of modern military operations.
