The European Union Military Assistance Mission in Mozambique (EUMAM MOZ) has delivered sports equipment, donated by the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF by its Spanish acronym), to youths and children at the ‘Casa do Gaiato’ orphanage.

This initiative began with the request, by EUMAM MOZ, for the donation of sports equipment to the military of the various countries contributing to the mission. Simultaneously, the military observers deployed in EUMAM also contacted the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) which, through its foundation, joined this collective cause of solidarity.

The RFEF has donated football kits, consisting of shirts, shorts and socks, to the ‘Casa do Gaiato’ orphanage. This institution is located 60 kilometres from Maputo and is home to 225 Mozambican children and youths aged 3 to 22 years old. 'Casa do Gaiato' offers them education and vocational training in areas such as carpentry and mechanics in a safe environment.

This donation reflects Spain's commitment to social welfare in Mozambique, this time thanks to the RFEF's solidarity aid, while also strengthening the ties between the two countries.
