'Orion' airborne detachment delivers humanitarian supplies to Caritas in Djibouti

·       The goods have been donated by the 'Colegio Menor Nuestra Señora de Loreto' and staff from the 11th Wing

Spanish airmen from 'Orion' detachment, as part of the European Union's Operation Atalanta, have delivered to Caritas Djibouti, goods that will help out the local population. These goods, including clothes, shoes and toys, have been donated by the 'Colegio Menor Nuestra Señora de Loreto' and staff from the 11th Air Force Wing to support the fight against poverty, intolerance and discrimination.

Caritas Djibouti and the Spanish detachment have been working in close coordination since the Spanish Armed Forces are fighting piracy in the Horn of Africa.

Spanish servicemen contribute to the effort of Caritas in Djibouti, focused on helping children and teenagers without family and refugees mainly from Somalia. They also support the projects of international  NGO's in the region.
