The frigate 'Méndez Núñez' (F-104) has carried out a provisioning at sea with the combat supply ship (BAC) 'Patiño' (A14). It received more than thirty pallets of supplies and spare material in an hour and a half, demonstrating the great capabilities of the 'Patiño' as a logistics ship.
The BAC 'Patiño' left its home port in Ferrol on 27 September to join NATO's Standing Naval Grouping 2 (SNMG-2) during Operation Noble Shield in the waters of the Mediterranean Sea.
With the arrival of the 'Patiño' in the area of operations, the ships integrated in the naval group gain autonomy and flexibility to take on any mission that may be entrusted to them.
The F-104, which is part of SNMG-2 within Operation Noble Shield, has as its main mission to carry out surveillance and deterrence tasks and to provide maximum visibility for NATO in Mediterranean waters.
