The last part of the deployment of personnel, assets and equipment in Slovakia is completed

The deployment of personnel, vehicles and military equipment belonging to the fourth rotation of the contingent deployed in Slovakia began last June 10 with the boarding of the resources in the port of Sagunto. After four days of navigation, the ship arrived at the port of Koper, in Slovenia.

Among the deployed equipment, it is worth mentioning the presence of VRCC Centauro cavalry reconnaissance and combat vehicles, VERT ground reconnaissance and exploration vehicles, Mistral missile firing positions, 105mm Light Gun field artillery howitzers and EOD explosive deactivation vehicles.

On June 15, the unloading of the ship began and, under the coordination of the National Support Element (NSE), different convoys were prepared for their movement by land to the logistic base facilities in Sklené and the manoeuvring field in the Slovakian town of Lešť.

All the equipment sent from Spain was divided into two parts. On the one hand, the containers with diverse equipment, equipment levels and logistical autonomy of the multinational brigade and, on the other hand, the different vehicles and platforms that reinforce with new capabilities those already deployed in previous rotations.

After three days of travel, with stop-overs at the transit bases of Postojna, ‘Slovenska Bystrica’ and ‘Murska Sobota’ in Slovenia, Camp Croft in the town of ‘Veszprém’, Hungary, they arrived at their final destinations safely, completing the last phase of the overland movement of vehicles and equipment.

This launch completes the deployment on the ground of the future multinational brigade that will be in Slovakia as part of the presence and deterrence operation on NATO's eastern flank. In this way, Spain shows its commitment, solidarity, determination and capability in the shared defence of the territory and populations of our allies.
