  • The Unit has participated in the 'Ramstein Alloy' and the 'Latvian Wolf'.

UDAA NASAMS eFP XIII personnel have participated in the exercises 'Ramstein Alloy' and 'Latvian Wolf' both with the task of air defence at Lielvarde Air Base. These exercises were planned and conducted by different agencies.

The exercise 'Ramstein Alloy' was planned by AIRCOM HQ and conducted by CAOC Uedem and involved the Spanish and Italian Baltic Air Police missions. Different air-to-air and air-to-ground combat scenarios were conducted over Lielvarde Air Base.

The UDAA NASAMS, for its part, participated through its integration into the NATO Integrated Air and Missile Defence System (NATINAMDS) through the CRC Lielvarde, under whose orders it fought the threat hanging over the Air Base.

On the other hand, the 'Latvian Wolf' was planned and executed jointly by the UDAA NASAMS and the Latvian Air Defence Battalion, with the aim of optimising the defence of the Base against any air threat. This exercise, in addition to the flights of the Latvian Air Force flying squadron, included for simulation purposes the aforementioned flights of the 'Ramstein Alloy'.Durante los mismos, también se inyectaron incidencias terrestres que permitieron activar las medidas de protección de la fuerza de la UDAA.

The exercises were a great anti-aircraft training opportunity for the unit, as it was possible to test the defence capabilities of the air base and to further improve joint procedures with Latvian personnel.
