Handover ceremony between contingents of operation "Support for Turkiye" at Incirlik AFB

• The AT XVIII contingent undertakes the ongoing operation within the NATO framework with a commitment to further contribute to Ballistic Missile Air Defence.

A transfer ceremony was held at Incirlik Air Base in Adana to conclude the handover of responsibilities for Operation Turkey Support between the AT XVII and AT XVIII contingents.

The act was presided over by Colonel Vicente Lunar Bravo, from the Operations Command, and began with a solemn hoisting of the Turkish and Spanish flags. This was followed by the handover of the contingent's script and speeches by Lieutenant Colonel Emilio Manuel Montero Espinosa, Head of the A/T XVIII contingent, as well as Colonel Lunar Bravo.

In his address, the Head of the A/T XVIII contingent emphasised the importance of providing support to our allies at a time when the Alliance must remain stronger than ever. Colonel Lunar Bravo also addressed contingents, highlighting the good work done by the outgoing force and wishing the incoming contingent all the best in the fulfilment of its mission.

The ceremony ended with the traditional act of tribute to those who gave their lives for Spain and the Artillerymen's Hymn was sung to conclude the military parade.
