  • He was remembered at an event on the fifteenth anniversary of his death.

In the vicinity of the "Miguel de Cervantes" Base, in the place where there is a monolith in his honour, a ceremony was held in memory of Lance Corporal Yeison Felipe Ospina Vélez, who died on 15 June 2008 in a traffic accident.

The ceremony was presided over by the Commanding General of the Lebanon Brigade, Luis Jesús Fernández Herrero, accompanied by the unit commanders of the BRILIB.

The formation was made up of an honours picket, the script and a pennant of the Protected Light Tactical Group, as well as the contingent's War Band.

After the honours to authority, the tribute took place, consisting of the reading of a sonnet, the singing of "Death is not the End", the offering of a laurel wreath and the recitation of the Parachute Prayer followed by the Toque de Oraison. The ceremony ended with the Parachute Shouts and the article from the Parachute Ideology "Life and death: life is defended by fighting; death is the greatest reward for the brave and the greatest punishment for the coward".

Corporal 1 Knight Legionnaire Ospina was part of the GTLP of the BRILIB V contingent; he was part of the crew of a BMR which, while moving between the "Miguel de Cervantes" Base in Marjayoun and UNP 9.66, suffered a rollover as a result of which he died.
