  • The Commander of the NATO Rapid Deployable Corps - Spain Headquarters (HQ NRDC-ESP) has visited the ship during its stay in port

The Logistics Transport Ship 'Ysabel', under operational control of the Operations Command, called at the civilian port of Valencia to embark the material necessary to support the operations "Libre Hidalgo" and "Support to Türkiye".

The BTL 'Ysabel' began its deployment on 20 April in support of operations in Lebanon and Turkey. After a day at sea, it made the first stop of the deployment in the port of Valencia where more than 20 containers and pallets of material and several vehicles were loaded.

The Commander of the NATO Rapid Deployable Corps - Spain Headquarters (HQ NRDC-ESP) made a visit on board where he had the opportunity to learn about the capabilities and means available to the ship.

The fundamental mission of the BTL 'Ysabel' in support of these two operations is to provide logistical support to the contingents deployed in Lebanon and Türkiye, by transporting vehicles and material. This is yet another example of Spain's capacity to support missions outside national territory.

The BTL 'Ysabel' is part of the Maritime Action Force (FAM), which within the Fleet is made up of the set of units whose main task is to prepare to protect national maritime interests and control maritime spaces of national sovereignty and interest. They are responsible, with a comprehensive approach, for ensuring permanent cooperation with the various government bodies with responsibilities in the maritime sphere, which constitutes the Navy's contribution to the State's action at sea.
