Spanish soldiers from the 'Libre Hidalgo' operation deliver toys and food donated by Spanish organisations at a Caritas centre.

Spanish soldiers from the Multinational Brigade East have delivered basic necessities and care products for children and the elderly people. The donation took place at the Caritas centre in Kleyaa associated with the Maronite parish of St. George. The event was atended on the Spanish side by Lieutenant Colonel Manuel Jiménez-Ríder  and Bassel Khoury, representative of Caritas in the district of Marjayoun and Hasbaya.

The material was donated by the University of Cordoba,  the Penitential Brotherhood of the Santa Vera Cruz of Montilla (Cordoba),  the Town Council of Churriana de la Vega (Granada) and  Caritas Castrense of Valladolid.

During the donation ceremony, Lieutenant Colonel Jiménez-Ríder pointed out Spain's commitment to the Lebanese people in these times of crisis and the importance of this solidarity donation, without distinguishing between creeds or confessions, and thanked Caritas for its efforts. For his part, the representative of Caritas in this Lebanese region, Bassel Khoury, underlined the vocation of his organisation in caring for the most needy and thanked the Spanish collaborating organisations for their solidarity.

With these initiatives, Spain shows its firm will to help and promote development and progress in Lebanon.
