They run the traditional New Year's Eve race during the evening
The military deployed at the Headquarters of the European Training Mission in Bamako, Mali, participated in the traditional San Silvestre race, which on this occasion was run at night and with the aim of supporting research against childhood cáncer.
The soldiers run with torchs, headlights and different lighting devices with the purpose of pointing the way for researchers in the fight against this disease.
The race took place within the facilities of the General Headquarters which, despite its dimensions, allowed the Spanish contingent, together with the military of the 28 countries participating in the operation, to run for a good cause.
This initiative, promoted by several associations that fight against childhood cancer such as "Isabelados" or "CRIS against cancer", aims to promote support for research in this field, through promotion on social networks to raise funds to carry out research it in the best possible way.
Our soldiers deployed in Mali have participated in this activity to bring "some light" to the research of this disease and to show the commitment of the Armed Forces to society.
