Through this event, the Spanish military strengthened relations with its neighbours and, in particular, with the Djiguiya Association, whose aim is to keep children away from radicalism and poverty through football
On a sunny morning, the soldiers of the EUTM Mali XV contingent met their neighbours from Koulikoro at the Mahamadou Diarra Municipal Stadium to enjoy a day of football in which the real winners were the children of the Djiguiya Association. The event began with simultaneous football games between the children, followed by a match between a team of Spanish soldiers and the local team.
Among these acts and thanks to the collaboration and donations of various associations and national groups, the little footballers were given official kits of Real Betis, Malaga C.F., Atlético de Madrid, Antequera and CD Váquez Cultural-Marbella. In addition, they were able to enjoy a breakfast covered by the Malaga Association "Paco Rengel".
The Spanish military continues strengthening ties with local population. The Spanish soldiers are aware that the affection shown by the local population during the mission is the result of all these initiatives with the aim of making their lives easier and whose greatest reward is to be able to contemplate the sincere and grateful look of a child.
