The Chief of Defence Staff presides over the 'Meeting of Military Music' on the occasion of DIFAS 2022

The streets of the centre of Huesca were the setting this afternoon for the 'Meeting of Military Music' which was chaired by the Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral General Teodoro Esteban López Calderón, accompanied by the Mayor of Huesca, Luis Felipe Serrate. Also in attendance, among other military and civilian authorities, were the Chief of Staff of the Spanish Army (JEME), Army General Amador Enseñat y Berea, the Admiral Chief of Staff of the Spanish Navy (AJEMA), Admiral General Antonio Martorell Lacave, the Chief of Staff of the Spanish Air Force (JEMA), Air Force General Javier Salto Martínez-Avial.

At six o'clock in the evening, the parade of military bands began, which then took part in the concert held in the Plaza de Luis López Allué. The Royal Guard Music Unit, the Music Unit of the General Military Academy (AGM), the Music Unit of the Legion Brigade (BRILEG), the Marine Infantry Music Unit, the Music Unit of the General Air Command (MAGEN) and the Music Unit of the Civil Guard and the Bugle and Drum Band of the 'Duque de Ahumada' School of Young Guards as well as the Municipal Band of Huesca took part in this event.

Hundreds of people applauded the performances throughout the route of the different music units as well as during the subsequent concert.

All the participating musical groups gathered at seven o'clock in the evening in the Plaza de Luis López Allué and the audience listened to performances of 'La Guardia de Alabarderos' and 'El Gato Montés' by the Guardia Real, among others. The following were also performed: 'Viva la Jota' and 'España Cañí' by the Civil Guard Music Unit; 'Gran Jota de la Dolores' by AGRUMAD; 'El Sitio de Zaragoza' by the AGM band; the Legion Band with 'De Andalucía a Aragón' and 'La Virgen de la Macarena'.

The Municipal Band of Huesca performed 'Sueños de Huesca' and 'Osca', the city's anthem. The concert ended with a performance by the General Air Command Music Unit to the sound of 'Las Corsarias' and 'Retreta', among other music.
