Components of the UVE, a unit under the Defence Staff (EMAD), have participated in an OSCE Vienna Document 2011 event in Denmark. In total, 39 representatives from 24 countries participated, in addition to a representative of the OSCE.
During the event, they had the opportunity to visit the Oksbol Barracks (Danish Artillery Regiment) where, after a briefing, they had the opportunity to visit their facilities and a static exhibition of different materials of the Regiment, as well as new types of weaponry. Among the materials on display were PIRAÑA 5 armoured vehicles in their Mortar 120 mm versions and a CAESAR 155 mm howitzer, among others.
They were also able to visit the Skrydstrup Air Base, where they visited the F-16 maintenance hangars, the engine testing facilities and the SAR Unit facilities, with its EH-101 helicopter. There was a static display of F-16, a dog safety demonstration exercise by the Canine Brigade and a firefighting and SAR rescue exercise with the aforementioned helicopter.
The Vienna Document 2011 requires OSCE participating States to organize in every five-year period a visit to an air base and a military facility and, where appropriate, to showcase weapons systems newly commissioned in their armed forces.
