CHOD HOLDS A CONFERENCE ON 'THE ARMED FORCES OF THE 21st CENTURY'

Chief of Defence Staff, admiral general Teodoro López Calderón, addressed a lecture at the XXII Course for general Officer's duties at the Centre for National Defence Studies (CESEDEN).

In a conference titled "The Armed Forces of the 21st Century", the JEMAD structured his speech into four blocks: the current strategic environment; capabilities and defence planning; the human factor as a key element in the organisation; and standing and overseas operations.

Regarding personnel, as an essential factor in our Armed Forces, CHOD highlighted the need to include them in the planning process and to take them into account when it comes to prioritising capabilities.

The XXII Senior Command Course is made up of 117 Colonels/Navy Captains. Army (41), Navy (22), Air Force (27), other branches of the Armed Forces (15) and Guardia Civil (12), the Course takes place at the Centre for National Defence Studies between January 20 and March 3, 2021.

Out of the total number of participants, there are four women. Three from the Armed Forces Medical Corps and one from the Armed Forces Legal Corps.
