The Chief of the General Staff Joint Command (JEMACON), Admiral Gonzalez-Huix, and his French counterpart, Admiral Jean Casabianca, met on Monday 27 at the État Major des Armées in Paris. This bilateral meeting has been held coinciding with the participation of a Spanish delegation in the meeting "Military European Strategic Talks" (MEST) that is taking place this same week in the French capital.

During the meeting it has been highlighted the excellent relations between the Armed Forces of both countries, and has reaffirmed the strength of the ties that bind us, being Spain , in the words of Admiral Casabianca, "a reliable ally for France". In fact, Spain and France have been participating together in numerous initiatives, both bilaterally and within the framework of the security and defence organisations, and at the same time they are considering opening up new areas  to increase the level of cooperation achieved.

In parallel with the meeting, General Muñoz Bronchales, head of the Strategy Division of EMACON, had a meetting with Air Force Brigadier General Bruno Foussard, head of the Euro-Atlantic Division of the French General Staff Joint Command. Both Generals addressed various topics together with their respective delegations.

After the meeting, the Spanish and French delegations shared a business lunch presided over by both admirals. During the lunch, the French delegation thanked Spain for its invaluable collaboration in areas such as the Sahel and highlighted the many common objectives that our countries share. The Spanish delegation highlighted the need to maintain the level of relationship reached between authorities and General Staffs, being open to the search for new collaborative options between our two countries.
