· It will be assessed during the Trident Jupiter Exercise in order to be certified as Land Component Command Headquarter
The HQ Eurocorps, based in Strasbourgh (France), has travelled to the NATO Joint Warfare Center, in Stavanger (Norway), in order to execute the Exercise “Trident Jupiter 19-1”. During such exercise, an Alliance´s team will assess its abilities as Land Component Command Headquarter (HQ LCC). The exercise will be set in a simulated deployment of the NATO Response Force (NRF).
Once achieved, the HQ LCC will be able to exercise command and control of the units composing the NATO´s Very High Readiness Joint Task Force (VJTF) and other subordinated units, which will provide, when necessary, a rapid deployment of forces and the initial establishment of the Alliance´s military presence. LCC Headquarters will be available for activation within NRF throughout 2020.
Around 535 members of the different nations who are deployed together with this Headquarters take part in this exercise, taking place from 23rd October to 15th November. Among the participants are 89 Spanish soldiers, being its maximum representative the Brigadier General Fernando Luis Gracia Herréiz.
