The Chief of Defense has closed the National Defense Courses held in 2024

  •  The CHOD has given the last conference to the students.

The Chief of Defense, Admiral Teodoro E. López Calderón, today closed the National Defense Courses at the Higher Center for National Defense Studies (CESEDEN) that have taken place during the year 2024.

Upon his arrival, the CHOD was received by the CESEDEN head, Lieutenant General Miguel Ballenilla y García de Gamarra, and then went to the auditorium to give the last lecture, entitled 'The current strategic environment and its impact on the Spanish Armed Forces'.

The closing ceremony, held in the 'Aula Magna', began with a welcome speech by the CEESEDEN Principal, followed by a speech by Brigadier General Luis Torcal Ortega, Head of the Department of Defense Culture and Diplomacy (DCDD).

On this occasion, certificates were awarded to 141 students. Of these, 41 are participants of the L National Defense Course; 40 participants of the LI National Defense Course; 30 students of the National Defense Course for Young People; and 30 students of the Monographic Course on National Defense, whose subject was 'Africa'.

These courses related to peace, security, defense and military policy are aimed at professionals of the Armed Forces, as well as other areas of the Public Administrations and society, with the purpose of promoting and disseminating the culture of defense.

During its execution, lectures and conferences are given, workshops are held as well as trips and visits of interest to defense units, organizations and companies in national and international territory, such as the visit to Brussels, where the organizations with Spanish presence, the EU and NATO, are explained.

CESEDEN, as an academic institution of excellence in the field of security and defense, reinforces its commitment to the training of civilian and military leaders, promoting greater awareness of current and future strategic challenges.
