The Spanish CHOD welcomes his Mauritanian counterpart

• Admiral General López Calderón met with General Moctar Bolle Chaabane, who is on an official visit to Spain

Admiral General, Teodoro E. López Calderón – Spain´s CHOD -, has met with his counterpart, General Mokhtar Bolle Chabaane, who is on an official visit to Spain.

The day began with a ceremony for those who gave their lives for Spain in the Plaza de la Lealtad in Madrid, which was attended by the two Commanders. They then travelled to the General Headquarters of the Defence Staff, where they held a working meeting attended by the main General Staff Commanders and the members of the Mauritanian delegation.

The meeting was aimed at strengthening ties and mutual commitment to security in the Sahel and boosting ongoing bilateral security activities, as well as exploring new cooperation initiatives.

This afternoon, General Bolle is scheduled to meet with the Minister of Defence, Margarita Robles. Tomorrow, the Mauritanian delegation will also visit the Infantry Academy in Toledo, Spain.
