Vice-Admiral Roca has attended this key multilateral forum on strategic and operational security in cyberspace
The commander of the Joint Cyber Command (MCCE), Vice-Admiral Javier Roca, has taken part in the latest edition of the Cyber Commanders Forum (CCF), held in Thun (Switzerland) and hosted by the Swiss Armed Forces Cyber Command, which reports to the Swiss Federal Department of Defence, Civil Protection and Sport (VBS).
During the conference, the international delegations analysed the most pressing challenges affecting global security in the cyber domain. Key themes in the various presentations included the transformative impact of emerging technologies — such as generative artificial intelligence and automation in combat environments —, the protection of critical infrastructure against cyber-attacks sponsored by state actors, and the operational lessons learnt from recent geopolitical conflicts.
The MCCE’s participation in this international forum underlines the Spanish Armed Forces’ ongoing commitment to cross-border cooperation and interoperability in an increasingly complex and volatile strategic environment.
Through the MCCE, Spain plays a leading role in the European and global cybersecurity architecture. In this regard, Vice-Admiral Javier Roca’s involvement has strengthened Spain’s position as a key partner in the strategic exchange of intelligence and in the formulation of multilateral cyber defence doctrines.
The Cyber Commanders Forum has established itself as the leading high-level multilateral gathering on cyber defence at an international level, bringing together military and institutional leaders from cyber defence commands in more than forty countries across five continents.
