The Joint Cyberspace Command (MCCE) has strengthened its workforce with the addition of 58 new ‘grey berets’, who have completed their training at their respective academies and schools. Seven of them are officers from the various armed forces and 47 are non-commissioned officers, joined by four sailors.

Over the course of their first three weeks, the new guardians of cyberspace have attended a series of information sessions to familiarise themselves with the nature, organisation and mission of the MCCE.

In this way, they have gained some prior knowledge that enables them to understand the tasks they will face in the future. From September, they will receive more specific training on the ‘CBECO’ Basic Cyber Operations Course, delivered by the Military School of Cyber Operations (EMCO).

This training programme will facilitate the integration of newly recruited staff with those already posted to the Command. It will also help new members to gain a deeper understanding of how the MCCE operates, with a view to optimising the allocation of each professional to their most suitable post.

With this recruitment drive, the Command is moving towards its target of reaching 1,500 personnel by 2030, which means tripling its current strength.
