A representation of the Spanish Armed Forces will take part in the military parade in Paris on 14 July to mark France’s National Day. The Spanish contingent, comprising 21 members of the Army, the Navy and the Air and Space Force, will march alongside contingents from other countries, including Ukraine, which form part of the Coalition of Volunteers for Ukraine.
The event, which will be held under the theme ‘Europe’s Strategic Awakening’, will also be attended by the Chief of the Defence (JEMAD), Admiral General Teodoro E. López Caderón. Through his participation, Spain is demonstrating the strength of the ties between the two countries and their shared commitment to a stronger, more united and more cohesive Europe.
The Spanish Armed Forces will take part in the parade with the flag of the Tercio Armada and an escort comprising personnel from the Army, including the ‘Inmemorial del Rey’ Infantry Regiment; the Navy, with marines from the Tercio de Armada; and the Air and Space Force, with its Honour Squadron. In addition, a Spanish F-18 fighter jet from No. 15 Wing will take part in the flypast.
