As part of the Summer Courses at the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM), Captain Tomás Dolarea, commander of the Combat Group (GRUCO) of the Joint Cyberspace Command (MCCE), gave an important lecture entitled “Information security in the spotlight”.

During his address at the Higher Technical School of Telecommunications Systems Engineering, the Navy’s technical specialist highlighted the challenges facing modern operations in the face of cyber threats.

The lecture forms part of the course ‘The Transformation of Conflict through Disruptive Technologies’, organised by the General Engineer Antonio Remón Zarco del Valle Chair, which stems from the agreement between the UPM and the Higher Centre for National Defence Studies (CESEDEN).

Throughout the event, this academic and military forum examines the vital role of unmanned vehicles, artificial intelligence and mission networks in providing the Armed Forces with a decisive advantage. The programme aims to keep professionals and students up to date in the face of a technological landscape that is evolving at an exponential rate.
