The Joint Cyberspace Command (MCCE) has successfully concluded its participation in the 6th edition of C1b3rWall, the cybersecurity event hosted by the National Police Academy in Ávila under the motto ‘Cybercrime 3.0’.
The MCCE was present in two capacities at this key event for the cybersecurity sector. On the one hand, the Commander of the Command delivered one of the presentations on the opening day, entitled ‘Patrolling cyberspace: security does not end in the street’.
In his address, Vice Admiral Javier Roca outlined the importance of protecting cyberspace in order to safeguard the rights and freedoms of society as a whole, and explained the capabilities available to the MCCE to achieve this objective. A task in which, as he stressed, ‘the most important element, beyond technology, is people and their values’.
In addition, the Command had a stand where numerous visitors came to raise awareness of the relevance of cyberspace in national defence and to learn in greater detail about the mission carried out by the ‘grey berets’ to ensure the freedom of action of the Armed Forces in the fifth operational domain. This information point received significant institutional support, including from the Director General of the National Police, Francisco Pardo Piqueras, who showed interest in the Command’s contribution to the security of all citizens in the digital environment.
