  •  The goal is to encourage students to pursue a career within the Command

The Joint Cyberspace Command (MCCE) has participated in the training program for the course ‘Technological Risk Management,’ which is taken by students in the Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology at the Universidad Europea. The goal has been to spread awareness of cyber defense culture and foster their interest in pursuing a professional career in the field of cybersecurity within the Command.

In his presentation ‘Do You Really Know Cyberspace?’, the MCCE’s external advisor on international relations, Enrique Pérez de Tena, focused on the concept of cyberspace and its risks, as well as the Command’s mission, organization, and tasks.

For his part, Sergeant Adrián Gracia Balandín, of the Cyberspace Operations Force (FOCE), highlighted the Command’s efforts to recruit talent in order to enhance its operational capabilities. In this regard, he referred to the Talent 4 Cyber initiative, the university-level Attack & Defense hackathon organized by the MCCE, whose most recent edition, held in 2025, saw the participation of nearly 500 students from 42 universities across Spain.

In this regard, Sergeant Gracia noted that this competition offers winners the opportunity to participate in the Locked Shields cyber exercise, the largest annual real-time cyber defense exercise organized by the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCDCOE). Its latest edition, which took place last April, brought together 186 participants at the Retamares Base, including members of the MCCE, the Armed Forces, Policía Nacional, Guardia Civil, as well as public entities and private companies.

The talk concluded with a presentation on the various ways to join the Armed Forces and the MCCE, after which the students received advice on how to approach their professional future.
