Representatives from the MCCE took part in two panel discussions on how cybersecurity and cyber defence are shaping the jobs of the future
The Joint Cyberspace Command has been invited to the Expo Talento Andalucía job fair. An event designed to connect companies with highly qualified students in fields such as AI and new technologies, law and finance, engineering, healthcare, tourism and cultural management, with the aim of promoting talent, employability and professional development in the region of Andalusia.
Representatives of the Command, Commander Enrique Pérez de Tena and Sergeant Alejandra Vicens, from the Command’s Institutional Relations team, took part in a hybrid event designed to enable companies and public institutions to connect directly with future professionals. They outlined the MCCE’s work in protecting cyberspace and the role of the Armed Forces in tackling the increasingly sophisticated and frequent threats arising in the digital sphere.
Enrique Pérez de Tena gave a presentation in which he noted that ‘what happens in cyberspace has direct consequences in the real world’. For this reason, he emphasised the need to be aware that the digital space is neither a neutral nor a completely secure environment. To conclude his speech, he highlighted the importance of people in protecting cyberspace and advocated for the academic sector as a source of talent for this task.
Subsequently, Sergeant Vicens took part in the round-table discussion ‘Engineering with a future: the professionals who will build tomorrow’, in which she highlighted the need to train professionals with creative capacity, technical skills and strategic vision. In her speech, she noted that ‘we do not need good people, but good people, whom we can count on to fight for the freedoms and rights of all, beyond the advancement of technology’.
Events such as Expo Talento Andalucía offer the opportunity to meet, assess and connect with emerging talent in key areas for the digital and technology market.
