The Joint Cyber Command took part in the second edition of the ALIA Andalucía Forum, the most important event in Andalusia within the AI sector. The director of the Joint Cyber Command’s Artificial Intelligence Reference Centre, Enrique Ávila, gave a presentation to the speakers focusing on how AI is applied in the cyber defence environment.

In his address, he emphasised the use of AI as a force multiplier for strategic capabilities in cyber defence, as well as its fundamental role in providing an immediate response to a cyberattack. A use which, as he highlighted, must always be subject to human control and adhere to ethical criteria of responsibility.

Similarly, he highlighted the challenge posed by adversarial AI, emphasising the critical trends that will shape its evolution and the impact they will have on future security. Furthermore, he stressed that the development of military AI should not be viewed as an isolated process, but rather as an ecosystem of comprehensive collaboration.

Finally, he emphasised the need for constant synergy between the civil and military sectors, backed by the essential support of other institutions and private companies to ensure innovation and continuous progress.

The central aim of the ALIA Forum is to democratise access to generative AI, enabling both SMEs and public administrations to move beyond being mere spectators and become key players in innovation. Through this drive towards technological sovereignty, the project aims to reduce dependence on external infrastructure, offering tools tailored to the linguistic and cultural reality of the region.

The forum’s schedule has covered key locations across Andalusia. The first event took place on 15th January in Jaén, where the former Teacher Training College became the epicentre of the technological debate. Taking over from there, on 14 April 2026 the forum moved to Sevilla TechPark, at the headquarters of the School of Industrial Organisation (EOI in Spanish), consolidating a knowledge transfer network across the autonomous community.
