The Joint Cyberspace Command Promotes Talent4Cyber at the SICUR 2026 Security Exhibition

•  The purpose of the visit was to promote the attack and defence hackathon among university students and raise awareness of the importance of education and training in cyber defence

The Joint Cyberspace Command participated in the 25th edition of SICUR, the International Security Exhibition. During its visit, the Command’s Institutional Relations team delivered a presentation highlighting the role of the Joint Cyberspace Command in protecting cyberspace and the contribution of the Armed Forces in addressing increasingly sophisticated and frequent threats in the digital domain.

Addressing a predominantly university audience, the Command promoted “Talent4Cyber”, the Joint Cyberspace Command’s attack and defence hackathon specifically designed for this target group and created to identify and attract cyber talent. During the presentation, students were informed of the importance of pursuing education and training in cyber defence and encouraged to consider the Joint Cyberspace Command among their future career options.

Consolidated as a major university event in the field of cybersecurity, in 2025 Talent4Cyber (T4C) brought together almost 500 students from 42 universities across Spain. The winners of the 2026 edition will have the opportunity to participate in the exercise Locked Shields, a live-fire cyber defence exercise based on Blue Team and Red Team scenarios, organised by the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCDCOE), which simulates realistic national-level cyberattack scenarios. For the current edition, participation is expected to increase, reaching the vast majority of Spanish universities.

SICUR is a biennial event that has become a benchmark in Spain for the comprehensive security sector. It brings together companies, associations, professionals and public and private stakeholders to present the latest innovations and technological developments across various areas of security.

Among the different sectors represented, cybersecurity has gained particular relevance in recent years. Strengthening digital protection for businesses and safeguarding data and systems against cyber threats are key priorities. SICUR CYBER provides tools and strategies to protect information in both corporate and personal environments.
