  •  Seven conferences that have highlighted the importance of cybersecurity in Navy operations

The Joint Cyberspace Command (JCC) has taken part in the 3rd Electromagnetic Operations Course for Navy officers, held at Rota Naval Base, Cádiz. Over two days, the JCC presented the attendees with some of the Command’s main missions and the key challenges it faces.

Retired Commander Enrique Pérez de Tena and Sergeant Vicens delivered two lectures introducing the Joint Cyberspace Command, its roles and capabilities, organisational structure and objectives. They also provided an in-depth overview of the various cyber defence programmes currently underway within the Command.

Captain Tomás Dolarea also delivered two lectures. The first focused on doctrinal publications and other references. The second one addressed cyberspace operations forces, their missions and tasks. In addition, intelligence expert María Porras, from ISDEFE, gave a lecture on cyberspace operations in the context of the Ukrainian.

Commander Jesús Bayón focused his presentation on conducting operations in cyberspace, while Lieutenant Commander Leopoldo O'Donnell addressed training in cyber operations at the Military School of Cyber Operations.

The Joint Cyberspace Command thus completes its extensive participation in the 3rd Electromagnetic Operations Course for Navy officers, demonstrating the importance of raising awareness among attendees about cyber defence and how interconnected traditional domains are with cyberspace.
