The Joint Cyberspace Command (MCCE) participated in the 7th edition of “Cybersecurity Uncovered”, held in Gijón (Asturias).

Enrique Pérez de Tena, representative of the Command, participated in the round table discussion “Infrastructures: Health and Cyberspace”, in which he highlighted the work carried out by the MCCE during Operation “Balmis” in protecting the systems of the “Gómez Ulla” Central Defence Hospital.

He was joined by Francisco Javier Díaz-Mesories, from the Organic Unit of the Judicial Police of the Civil Guard in Asturias, and César Martínez Munguía, inspector of the Technological Crimes Group of the Judicial Police Brigade of the Gijón Police Station.

'Cybersecurity Uncovered', organised by Gijón City Council through “Gijón Impulsa”, aims to promote awareness of cybersecurity from a technical, ethical and legal perspective.

This year's edition focused on the healthcare sector, where cybersecurity plays a decisive role, both in protecting medical systems and in ensuring the confidentiality and protection of patient data against cyberattacks.
