The Chief of Defense chairs the annual meeting of the Eurocorps Joint Committee

The Chief of Defense, Admiral General Teodoro E. López Calderón, chaired the annual meeting of the Joint Committee (CoCo in Spanish) in Barcelona, the main governing body of the Eurocorps, composed of the Chiefs of Defense and political directors of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Framework Nations (Germany, Belgium, France, Luxembourg, Poland, and Spain).

It is traditional for the CoCo to meet in the country that is acting as host nation, which in 2025 is Spain. On this occasion, the venue chosen was the General Captaincy of Barcelona, headquarters of the Army Inspectorate General.

At the meeting, the Commander of the Eurocorps, currently held by Spanish Lieutenant General Aroldo Lázaro, and the Chairman of the Eurocorps Committee (ECC) took stock of the current year.

The following documents, negotiated by Spain as Secretary Nation in 2025, were also approved:

• Decision of the Joint Committee on the modification of the rotation of the Eurocorps command group, which will provide greater stability and continuity in command.
• Terms of Reference of the Eurocorps Governing Bodies, which regulate the cycle of annual meetings of the various Committees and Expert Groups that comprise it.
• Poland's note of accession to the Technical Agreement regulating logistical and medical support for Eurocorps operations.

Once the sessions were over and the conclusions signed, the Secretariat was transferred from Spain to France.
