The Major of the Joint Cyber Command (MCCE), Vice Admiral Javier Roca, attended the 16th Cyber Commanders Forum (CCF), held in Prague (Czech Republic) under the heading “Building Cyber Defence Readiness through Civil-Military Cooperation”.
During the event, the MCCE handed over the presidency of the Cyber Commanders Forum to the Czech Republic, in its capacity as organiser of the two previous editions, held in Tallinn (Estonia) and Malaga, attended by Cyber Defence majors from 42 countries.
After the ceremony to transfer the ‘CCF Major’s Bell’, the Czech Major, Brigadier General Radek Haratek, and participants in the round tables, such as Canada and Latvia, emphasised the need to advance cooperation with Ukraine.
The CCF also featured presentations by Nikolas Ott, Project Manager for Cybersecurity Policy and Digital Diplomacy at Microsoft, who gave a talk entitled “Cyber defence, resilience and innovation: lessons from the current environment of techno-geopolitical cyber threats”. In his presentation, he took stock of the cyberattacks that are received and pointed out that ‘only 4% are not related to money’.
The meeting also analysed the current environment of techno-geopolitical cyber threats, civil-military synergies on defence and security guarantees, and collaboration in this area in a constantly changing environment.
