The Joint Cyberspace Command (MCCE) participated in Jaén in the first edition of the ‘Specialized Conference on Cybersecurity and Resilience in Critical Infrastructures’. The importance of understanding cyberspace and the main threats and vulnerabilities faced by the Armed Forces, public institutions, and civil society was emphasized.
In his presentation entitled “What they never told you about cyberspace,” MCCE representative Enrique Pérez de Tena emphasized that “we are in the midst of a change of era, as momentous as the discovery of fire, and that if companies do not transform themselves to provide real solutions to current problems, they are doomed to failure. It is not enough to simply adapt.”
In addition to conferences and round tables, several CTF exercises have been carried out focusing on cyber defense of infrastructure related to civil water management. Simulating a critical data breach at a water company and making strategic decisions under pressure or defending against an attack that blocks access to SCADA water distribution systems were some of these simulated exercises.
The Specialized Conference on Cybersecurity and Resilience in Critical Infrastructure brought together members of the Innovasur Foundation, ASA Andalucía, CCN-CERT, and Incibe, as well as representatives from companies such as PaloAlto, Fortinet, and ZScaler.
