These conferences were aimed at communication professionals with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of providing accurate and verified information on cyber defence
The Institutional Relations Office of the Joint Cyberspace Command attended the National Communication and Defence Conference in Murcia.
A lecture was given explaining to attendees the importance of checking their sources before publishing information and being rigorous with the content of news. A brief presentation was also given to attendees on how, on the internet, not everything is as what it seems and this can lead to mistakes in the information provided by communication professionals.
During the conference, issues such as the main difficulties in reporting on new global conflicts, how journalists approach coverage of wars in the Middle East and Ukraine, as well as the role of the armed forces in the current global war context were discussed. These questions were addressed by journalists specialising in conflicts, together with communications managers from the defence industry, analysts and members of the Armed Forces.
These Communication and Defence conferences are organised every year by the Association of Journalists and the Defence Delegation of the Region of Murcia, together with collaborating companies.
