The Joint Cyber Command (MCCE) received a visit from 40 prominent figures participating in the 53rd National Defence Course
During the event, Vice Admiral Roca gave a presentation emphasising the importance of understanding the current situation in order to deal with existing threats in cyberspace and implement protection, intelligence and active defence capabilities. ‘People and values must be the best allies of technology in order to achieve the objectives set in the cyber arena.’
. In addition, attendees witnessed a demonstration of cyber capabilities by the Cyber Operations Combat Group (GRUCO), as well as other demonstrations of 5G and Artificial Intelligence, in which they were able to learn about real cases applied in the MCCE.
The purpose of the National Defence Course is to bring together a group of high-level civilian officials who may in future hold positions related to national defence. This includes members of the national parliament; senior civil servants in level 30 positions; university lecturers and professors; executives from national industry or companies; and media professionals involved in defence-related matters.
The general plan for the course includes learning about the operational structure of the Armed Forces, that is why a visit to the Retamares Base has also been organised, where they attended a lecture on the “Cyberspace Scenario” at the MCCE and another on “Operational Approach and Conduct of Operations” at the Operations Command (MOPS), both followed by a symposium between speakers and attendees.
