The Chief of Defence (JEMAD), Admiral General Teodoro E. López Calderón, took part in the debate “40 years on, how Spain wants Europe to be”, organised by the Carlos de Amberes Foundation, which analysed future strategies for continuing to move forward in unity through the impact of the EU on our country.
The Chief of Defence took part in the round table discussion entitled ‘European Defence Community’, which was opened by Josep Borrell, former High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
López Calderón stressed the importance of establishing joint defence strategies to strengthen the future stability and well-being of the European Union.
This round table discussion, moderated by Miguel Ángel Aguilar, president of the Carlos de Amberes Foundation, also featured the participation of Nicolás Pascual, Member of the European Parliament; Gustavo Palomares, director of the General Gutiérrez Mellado University Institute; Ángel Escribano, executive chairman of Indra Group; and Miguel Ángel Panduro, CEO of Hispasat.
