The Joint Cyber Command (MCCE) participated in the Securmática congress on cybersecurity, information security and privacy, with the aim of raising awareness among attendees of the importance of cyber defence in protecting institutions and citizens.
In his speech, General Federico Juste framed the current digital arms race within the concept of ‘hybrid warfare’. A ‘grey area’ that cannot be defined as either war or peace in geopolitical terms. ‘The isolated incidents that occurred in cyberspace not long ago are now a constant, having become the new battleground.’
Securmática is a congress whose objective is to offer a comprehensive, up-to-date and exclusive overview of cybersecurity, information protection and privacy in their technical, organisational and legal aspects, with a special focus on the presentation of benchmark projects.
Organised by SIC magazine, Securmática celebrated its 35th anniversary with the aim of becoming a meeting place for commercial and professional relations between industry and services in the cybersecurity sector in Spain and Latin America.
Other participants at the congress included Esperanza Casteleiro, Secretary of State, Director of the CNI and CCN, and President of the CNC; Enrique Cubeiro, Head of Defence at S2Group; Javier Candau, Deputy Director General of Cybersecurity at the CCN; and Abel Lozoya de Diego, Head of Information Security at Navantia, among other figures from the public and private sectors.
