The Military School of Cyber Operations (EMCO) has completed the basic information courses for the Mountain Troop Command (MTM), scheduled for the second half of the year.

Thus, after 10 weeks of training, 41 new operators have completed their instruction and will now take up their responsibilities in the cyber operations units of the Army and the EMAD.

As for the participants, it is also worth noting that EMCO has had international students for the first time. Second Sergeant Cristian Quiroz Barreto, from the Colombian Army, has become the first foreign student trained at EMCO.

With regard to training activities, the courses taught have been aimed at training personnel in skills related to defensive operations, intelligence and cyberspace construction, all of which are necessary to effectively carry out the missions entrusted to units in this field.

With regard to defensive operations, the course has trained eight new Cyber Defence Operations Centre operators, equipping students with essential skills and knowledge for network monitoring and initial incident management.

Seventeen new operators have completed training in the area of cyber threat intelligence, enabling them to contribute to threat modelling and intelligence generation in this field.

Finally, 16 other Cyber Defense Systems Implementation operators have also completed their training, acquiring skills in the installation, configuration, and operation of these systems, which are essential for all units in the area to contribute to the effective fulfillment of their assigned missions through their use.

The closing ceremony was held at the EMACOT facilities at the Cuatro Vientos air base, presided over by the Head of the FOCE Combat Group. It was also attended by the Director of EMCO, Lieutenant Colonel Fernando Palop Alcaide, and the Head of Studies at EMACOT, Lieutenant Colonel José Joaquín Cepeda Lozano. They were joined by Army General Luis Mauricio Ospina Gutiérrez, Colombia's Defence Attaché in Spain, and the teaching staff of the CESTE University Centre, who accompanied the students throughout the process.

In his speech, the Head of the FOCE Combat Group urged students to maintain their commitment to continuous learning as the only tool for perfecting their skills and serving Spain by contributing to the security, peace and stability of our society from cyberspace.
