The 34 students who will take the 1st edition of the Basic Specialisation Course in Cyber Operations for Officers and the 57 who are starting the 2nd edition of the course for Non-Commissioned Officers are joining the School.
Ninety-one students from the Basic Specialisation Courses in Cyber Operations for Officers and Non-Commissioned Officers have already joined the Military School of Cyber Operations (EMCO). The opening ceremony was presided over by the Commander of the Joint Cyberspace Command (MCCE). Both Vice Admiral Roca and the Acting Director of the EMCO, Lieutenant Colonel Palop, addressed the students to welcome them and encourage them to put all their efforts into these complex and demanding courses.
The importance of the event was highlighted by the presence of authorities from the Defence Staff, the Operations Force, the Senior Non-Commissioned Officer of the MCCE and the Colonel Director of the Command and Control School (EMACOT) of the Air and Space Force, which shares its classrooms with the EMCO while the construction of its new premises is being completed.
The Basic Specialisation Courses taught by the School replace the former Advanced Cyber Defence Course and provide students with more extensive training in line with the requirements of this field.
All students will undergo a fourteen-week intensive training period in which they will acquire and perfect knowledge applicable to the cyberspace domain. They will receive technical training in the main types of cyber operations, familiarising themselves with national and international doctrine and the legal framework. The courses are scheduled to end in mid-December.
